More than two-thirds of people who access the internet use mobile devices, according to the US Census. But government workers are largely unable to take advantage of the mobile revolution.
Fearless has received a Phase II Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Award to develop a unique solution for the United States Air Force’s Business Enterprise Systems Programming Innovation (BESPIN) Program to fully utilize mobile devices.
The SBIR program encourages small businesses to engage in Federal Research/Research and Development (R/R&D) that has the potential for commercialization. The program strives to stimulate technological innovation and meet federal research and development needs.
Mobile Delivery as a Service.
“Three major problems are preventing the government from using mobile devices at scale,” said Fearless founder and CEO Delali Dzirasa. “Security, delivery, and building the right thing at the right time.”
Mobile Delivery as a Service (MDaaS) is a unique solution for the security concerns that face BESPIN. MDaaS contains a secure application development pipeline. And it has the mobile identity management, device management tools, and governance required to aid in application delivery.
Working with Clarity Innovations and Akamai, Fearless’ solution will enable distributed Airmen developers to build deployable applications and USAF application users to access mobile applications.
Building a fast and secure platform.
By providing a secure platform that allows information to be delivered in seconds and minutes, instead of months, this technology will empower Air Force developers. The Airmen who will be using these applications are on the go and need the most up-to-date information as possible to protect and serve our country. Our solution will allow applications to be developed at the right time for users
“We want to empower our Airmen to be able to build and deploy solutions that solve their most critical problems,” Dzirasa said.
The need for secure platforms in application development goes beyond BESPIN and the Air Force: “Our team plans to start with BESPIN, which is the mobile center of excellence for the Air Force, then extend to the rest of the Air Force and the federal government at-large in the future,” Dzirasa said.
Software Engineers from Fearless will be rotating their work between Fearless Headquarters in Baltimore and the BESPIN facilities in Montgomery, Alabama.
This project is part of Fearless’ partnership with the US Air Force and TechMGM to support new projects for the Department of Defense and support the tech ecosystem and greater community in Montgomery, Alabama.
